Who am I?
I’m Corey, a UX/UI designer based in Montreal.
My natural curiosity always pushes me to explore, investigate, and learn what I don’t know. This is also reflected in my personality as a designer.. Consequently, my design approach has always been guided by an eternal dichotomy between divergent and convergent thinking, artistic attitude and scientific method, creative mess, and obsession with details. Understanding the user needs as been at the forefront of my design philosophy. I’ve recently come across Continuous Habits by Teresa Tores and trying to include her methods in my design habits.
I lived and worked in Montreal for 5 years where I recently started gaining experience in developing my identity as a UX researcher and designer. I’ve completed the UX certificate course at Concordia University where I worked on two different projects. For Uni’s Grey Box , I created UI components library, and built a responsive interface from an outdated model. In the second project I upskilled my UX design practice by working on implementing new features into an existing brand called Future Money.
I’m currently taking personal contract work for artists and new restaurants while looking for full-time work as a researcher or designer.
